The Axiom Chamber Music Foundation was formed with the purpose of promoting brass chamber art music to the public through educational concerts, recitals, clinics, masterclasses, lectures, festivals, music camps, residencies, and recordings. Furthermore, the organization seeks to further the chamber music repertoire through commissions to composers of both original works and transcriptions.

To achieve these goals, the ACMF is divided into three parts:

  1. The first department focuses on providing community engagements throughout the Chicagoland area and abroad. These concerts are meant to reach out to the community and share the power of great music to all people.
  2. The second is the educational department. The cornerstone of ACMF, this department organizes and executes creative and innovative programs for schools and provides music opportunities for children of all ages as well as college and adult programs.
  3. The final component of ACMF is the promotion of artistic chamber music for brass by directly supporting composers. To help aid in providing great works, this department provides commissions for today’s upcoming and leading composers through grants and competitions.

During the 2016/17 season, the foundation has introduced ACMF audiences to ten newly commissioned works for brass chamber music, most of them receiving the a world premiere at one of the three ACMF season concerts.
