The Music of Piazzolla: A Centennial Celebration Recording

In memory of the life and music of Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992), father of the Nuevo Tango, Axiom Brass recorded an album of some of his greatest works!

The first all-Piazzolla album recorded by a brass quintet, the album includes music from his Suite del Angel, Maria de Buenos Aires, Oblivion, Ave Maria, and more! Each of these compositions has been beautifully translated for brass quintet by Axiom's own Dorival Puccini.

Axiom recorded Astor at Nichols Hall with recording engineer Chris Willis in May of 2021.

Contributions assisted in covering production and editing costs, recording engineer fees, facility rental fees, and album distribution fees. Thank you to our tremendous friends who financially supported this meaningful project!
