Axiom Brass will make their first appearance with the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra led by David Lockington. The program, entitled Brass and Variations, will explore music of theme and variation within the brass with works by Bernard Rands, J.S. Bach, Jose Vincent Egea, and Witold Lutoslawski. The centerpiece of this set is Egea's Fantasia Flamenca, a Spanish show-stopper featuring Axiom's flare and virtuosity. This will be the Midwest premiere of Egea's 17 minutes concerto.
